How to Recycle Beauty Products
"The global cosmetics industry produces 120 billion units of packaging every year, that contributes to an annual loss of 18 million acres of forest.”

Regulations
Don't just look for a recycling triangle, since it is not the only way to know the recyclable nature of the container. Look at the labels because only plastic items that have the numbers 1 or 2 printed within the arrows are widely recyclable in curbside recycling programs.
Don't see a recycling symbol?
TerraCycle, a private recycling business, has a partnership program with Nordstrom called BEAUTYCYCLE, which allows people to recycle almost any beauty product. You can drop off your packaging (regardless of brand) at in-store collection points, including items that are typically unrecyclable.
Be mindful of the packaging you purchase
Plastic can only be recycled 2-3 times before it is no longer usable. Switching to brands that practice sustainability and offer eco-friendly options will make a significant difference.
Look for items that require less packaging as well. 99% of the time, we buy an item in a box and immediately discard the box. Tea Lab Beauty will be packaging products in one single fabric bag that customers can keep to store their makeup or jewelry when traveling.
