TEA MASK RECIPE
Science Behind Rooibos Tea
You can use any tea mask recipe from my book but this is the one I am using in the picture below. Rooibos tea has powerful antioxidants such as aspalathin and nothofagin that have strong anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Creating a face mask out of this tea also protects the skin against free radicals (unstable atoms on the skin that can cause cell damage), and aids in increased cell turnover.
Benefits
- Soothing
- Reduces inflammation
- Reduces redness
- Even skin tone
Ingredients
- 1/2 squeezed lemon
- 1 tbsp honey
- 3 bags of rooibos tea
Steps
- Open 3 bags of rooibos tea and pour contents into small bowl.
- Mix with the honey and lemon juice
- Stir until consistency is thick. If consistency is too watery, add more tea.
- Apply onto clean skin and leave on for 20 minutes. Use an old t-shirt incase your shirt gets dirty.
- At the end, you can use it a scrub before washing it off your face.
